THE GROOM (TO BE) IS ON THE GREEN

We’ve all heard the adage: “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.” The saying is mostly related to Bachelor Parties. “The Hangover” films have it forever burned into our collective consciousness. Well, not every bachelor party goes to Las Vegas. We’ve got a destination recommendation for the groom-to-be (and his buddies) who love golf. This isn’t just a golfing destination– this is the American Mecca for golfers. The place is The PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach, Florida.

Since opening its greens in 1981, The PGA National Resort & Spa has hosted some of golf’s most momentous happenings, including the first Senior PGA Championship, the 25th Ryder Cup, and the PGA Honda Classic. The course has seen the likes of Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer and Hale Irwin- just to name a few. To read more about the legendary matches and records that were set here, go to: PGA Resort’s Historic Moments.

For a golf-loving groom-to-be who wants to celebrate his final days as a bachelor with his friends and members of his wedding party, what place could be better? Wait- there’s more than just the five championship golf courses. After a day of golf, and some relaxation time at the pool, The PGA National Resort & Spa has some fantastic dining options, including The Ironwood Steak & Seafood. It keeps getting manlier. The boys can also enjoy cigars and whiskey at the Montecristo Lounge.

The PGA National Resort & Spa has some fantastic specialty suites. For a destination bachelor party, The Media Suite couldn’t be better. The large living room features an entertaining area with two 55” LCD HD TVs, and a furnished balcony overlooking the resort gardens or the pool area. This is an excellent meeting place for the group. The suite’s bedroom is separated by a sliding door for privacy, and features a king-size bed and an additional 42” LCD HD TV.
