Our recent photo shoot with Kelli Giddish (who plays Detective Amanda Rollins on Law & Order: SVU) for Volume II of the 2015 Sophisticated Weddings: New York Edition was a truly fantastic production thanks to all of the elements that came together that day. Featuring gorgeous gowns by Anne Barge, Tony Ward provided by Kleinfeld, and Karen Willis Holmes, awe-inspiring moments captured by Brian Hatton Photography, picturesque backdrop at The Carlton Hotel, stunning diamond jewelry by Christopher Designs, beautifully fragrant florals byFleurs Bella, and hair and beauty perfection by Valerie Star from Caravan Stylist Studio, we had an incredible team from the start. Kelli shined with her fun and kind-hearted spirit that day, and we are so excited to be soon releasing this editorial spread that showcases one of our best shoots yet!
Now here to spill the tea on behind the beauty, Valerie Star from Caravan Stylist Studio shares all of the deets on what went into making up Kelli Giddish for this shoot…
Caravan had the pleasure of doing Kelli’s hair, makeup and nails up for her wedding looks in the magazine. We started off by painting Kelli’s nails with COLOR CLUB nail lacquer in a demure shade of light pink called Blush Crush.
To create the natural glowing skin we prepped Kelli’s skin first with the FOREO and LIFTLAB Purify + Clarify and then we applied a little Lift + Perfect, Lift + Moisturize & Lift + Firm eye cream. And for her lips we applied a littleManuka Secrets Lip Luster.
Once Kelli’s skin was perfectly prepped, we created a very natural look with the makeup. By using PHYSICIANS FORMULA it gave us the perfect amount of color and coverage for the natural look we were going for. For Kelli’s eyes, we used the All In One Palette in Natural and the Shimmer Strips Bronzed Collection. We then lined her eyes with the Kohl Pencil and applied two coats of Mascara.
For Kelli’s hair we styled it using all NOT YOUR MOTHERS hair products. We first prepped the hair with BEAT THE HEAT prior to using the CURLING IRON to create loose natural waves. With a little bit of SHE’S A TEASE hairspray and RISE AND SHINE glossing spray her hair looked perfect and ready to start the shoot.
The only thing the look needed was the final little touches to show off her skin. With FAKE BAKE Flawless and Vaseline® Spray & Go™ Kelli was ready to shoot.
